How Many Days Until Christmas?

If I listened to what everyone was telling me, I would know that answer, but I am choosing not to think about it too much!  Enjoy the moment and do whatever I can.  I am picking my projects carefully right now, what REALY needs to be done before Christmas.

Glory is enjoying her new bed and Minnie the cat is liking it too, she has learned to climb up and down the ladder.  Kind of fun.  Glory did come to my room the other early morning to say she could not sleep because Minnie was batting at her face.

We had a great weekend.  I got a lot of projects done.  The kids had their sports.  Sunday was family skate day at the figure skating club.  Jack was flying on the ice!  Him and Glory received a skating badge and move to the next level in January.  Here are 3 of the family (bad iphone pic):

Here is a picture of my hockey playing son who took full advantage showing that not only can he get a breakaway and score goals, but he can to spirals, drags and spins:

Added to the weekend fun was a visit/present exchange with my sister and her husband.  It was very nice, the kids were so happy to see them.  Also a birthday party for my mother-in-law.  It was a lot of fun too!Y

New Beds

The girls (well, the big girl) are very happy with their new beds!  We all knew the day would come that Gina would be getting a big girl bed.  She is still happy in her crib right now, but someday she will move into her big girl room to share with her sister.

I was planning on going mattress shopping and after a brief conversation with my mother I decided to purchase the new bed too.  I went with bunk-beds.  Glory has been asking for a bunk-bed so I went with it.  After I made the purchase I new I had made the right decision when I saw what the bed was called... Gin-na,  How perfect is that! it actually stands for Ginger - Natural, but that is not the important part.

Here is the bed fully assembled:

The picture won't make the magazines because our bedding and bed rails are either practical or chosen by the children.  However, that is just the way we like it, it is very US.  Glory has thanked me many times for her new bunk-bed.Y

UPDATE (February 2012):  No more bunk bed.  My daughter decided she didn't like the top bunk.  The beds are separate and still look fantastic.

Fingerless Gloves

While reading my crafty blogs one day I ended up clicking on this and clicking on that until I came across slouchy fingerless gloves.  I loved them!  Up until then I have seen many styles of fingerless gloves and have always been intrigued, but for some reason the slouchy ones called to me.  I did not immediately react to this, but did store the information in my head.

Then one day my friend Erin opened up a Facebook store called Auntie's Hooked.  She does special orders and lives in the United States, she was a little unsure about the cost of shipping, but I gave it a go anyway.  She did a wonderful job and shipping turned out to be very reasonable.  My new gloves just arrived, here they are:

Christmas Decorating has Begun

Tonight the kids and I worked on our annual Gingerbread House and I added a Gingerbread Tree to the festivities.  Richie was home this year, so he was very helpful with Gina, putting the Christmas Carols on and taking action shots.

Here was our evening:

Maybe I will give this a taste...

or not.

Careful planning:

And the final results:

The kids did a wonderful job as usual.  We even added snowmen this year!Y
