She was such a good girl on her Birthday. Our tradition of singing Happy Birthday as many times as we can was hard to accomplish, because her little sister wanted us to sing to her too. Luckily we have a very loving big sister. I made sure to hug her a lot and tell her I love her and to wish her Happy Birthday as much as I could. At the party she had fun with all of her Auntie's, cousins, grandparents and most of her Uncle's. I have a hard time believing how big she is getting. I love her!
One of the things that I love about my kids is their unique ideas. When I asked my daughter what kind of cake she would like for her birthday she replied, lemon. I then asked if she would like it to look like something special or like a regular cake. Very sure of herself she answered that she would like it to look like a lemon. So, I went with that and we had a lemon themed Birthday Party.
I decorate cakes for fun. Sometimes they are awesome, sometimes they are not. I will share my lemon cake here, but I am not sure it will make my flickr album of cakes. First thing I did to make the cake was make a half slab cake. I then cut it in half and torted the layers so my cake would be nice and tall.

To continue with the lemon theme, I decided to make lemon themed party favours. I have seen so many neat ideas in the blog world that I could not resist doing it. I made Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub. I read a few tutorials on how to make it, then did my own recipe. I think it turned out well. 4 tbsp Juice from a lemon, 2 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil.
