WIP Wednesday - lite

Today is the Lite version, meaning I do not have a lot to share.  I debated not linking up, but it is a great way to keep on track of my projects, so I am going for it!

Christmas Ornament - The idea came from Pinterest.  This one will be a gift, I have two more to do.

Prince Charming Quilt

The Prince Charming Quilt has been signed, sealed and delivered!

I have mentioned before that I have quilted pillows, purses, whole fabric baby blankets, pieced baby blankets, pieced duvet covers, but this was really my first quilt.  I felt like I was making a quilt and not just making something.  This quilt has a story that made it extra special for me and hopefully to it's new owner, my Auntie.

WIP Wednesday and a Wolf Hat

I found my hat pattern!  That means I was able to make my daughter's winter hat.  I did not realize how uninspired I was to make a new hat until I started making it.  As it came together I remembered how much I love to make fleece hats.  As I mentioned in my last post I have tweaked my pattern.  I now have the perfect (for me) pattern for size 21" and 22" head circumference.  The original pattern that I used was this fleece hat tutorial and if you browse through her gallery you will find the inspiration for this wolf hat.

WIP Wednesday - binding

I am here again sharing my Works In Progress (WIP).  Although, I have not completed anything I made huge headway on my Prince Charming Quilt.

I have not started any big projects, but I have started a couple Christmas ornaments.  These should be easy to complete.  Just. Need. To. Find. The. Time.

Progress Made
Prince Charming - I don't think I named this quilt last week, but all of you fabric gurus knew.  I finished quilting it!!!!  It was my first time doing free motion on a large project.  I loved/hated it while I worked on the first 60% of the quilt, but the last 40% went amazing.  I was so impressed with the ease of it that I am no longer afraid to attempt it again!  Of course there are technical errors, but that is to be expected right?

I am now onto the binding.  I have machine stitched the front and am hand stitching the back.  I don't have much time this week, so will be using my lunch hours at work to complete as much as I can.  Here is a new peak at the project.

Nearly Hexagon Charm Quilt - It is named 'nearly' because I will repeat one fabric in it, it should be just noticeable enough to give it the cohesiveness that I am looking for.  I managed to sneak in a few more hexagons, 27 to be exact.
This is a beautiful batch.  I used my Terrain fabric to make them.  Unfortunately, they will need to be broken up in the finished quilt so they do not overshadow the rest of the hexies!

Mustaches - the faux kind

Fake mustaches pop up all over the web these days.  They are very popular - sewn, knit, crochet, paper, felt, you name it, you can make a mustache with it.  Mustaches are also very popular where I live in support of Movember - the month that men grow mustaches in support of Prostate Cancer.  A very sexy month!

Who wouldn't have fun with a fake mustache?  I recently made some for my children's hockey team.  The team will be taking a "fun" picture for a contest later this month and sporting these accessories.

I have made a few crochet items lately and I never remember to take pictures of them.  Today, I thought I would share a small project that I did take pictures of.  Fish Washcloths.

I found a free pattern on Ravelry.  It is a great site if you crochet or knit and I strongly recommend joining.  However, if you are not a member, you can find the pattern here.  It is a super easy pattern and makes cute washcloths.  They are 100% cotton and great for the kitchen or bath.  My kids however, were not impressed.  Go figure.  I guess they were raised to have very simple likes, they prefer a simple square washcloths.

Happy Crafting and have a great weekend!
