Work in Progress (WIP):  Just like last week, I have been jumping around from project to project.

Complete Projects

Wedding Gift Pillow Set: I will share these later this week.

Terrain Wall Quilt:  I finished the top!  Now all I have left is to quilt and bind it.  It is a little larger than I had originally planned, however I think it will work well.

WIP :: 03.21.12

Work In Progress (WIP).  I have been in a very random sewing mood.  I do a little of this, then a little of that, things are getting done one teeny bit at a time.

Farmer's Wife quilt-a-long Block 44, 77

I am a little out of order, but I am working on it:)  I was looking at all of my blocks so far and realize that I have a thing for light and dark blue together, now that I am aware of this I will aim for more variety in my blocks.

Recently I came across a Snapazoo on the internet.  I could not figure out what it was, but I was intrigued.  Naturally I turned to Google.  I found a some great information on  Basically, it is a flat toy with snaps that you can snap into different animals.  I used two layers of fleece with quilt batting in the middle.

Side Two

Some of the instructions are confusing, I think once I figure them out I will do a picture tutorial for the kids to follow.  So far the oldest two have mastered the bear and the youngest has mastered undoing it.  My other child falls somewhere in the middle.

Fairy Progress

I always think that I want to do an embroidery project.  After doing some simple embroidery on my fairy I started to change my mind.  It is such a slow process for me, however, right in the middle of working on it I decided to embroider a water lily on a purse I am making (I will have to share at a later time).  Either way, I think I am done the fairy, I may look again once I have more of the whole project together.

I was torn about stitching her face.  I really wanted to, but traditionally I have not done well at sketching faces.  After drawing a couple test faces on paper (and being laughed at over one of them) I decided to just go for it.  I think it gave her the personality that I was hoping for.

It is exciting to see this project come together, I started without knowing all of the details.  I have it all figured out now and I am enjoying the process.

WIP:: Fairy

I am going to tell you something about myself that you may not know.  I love fairies!  They are whimsical, playful, fun and so much more.  One of my favourite stories is Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.  I have read it many times.

When I envisioned my Terrain wall quilt, I saw Daisies.  My favourite flower.  That is what I carried down the aisle at my wedding.  It took me a while to nail down the way I wanted them to look and when I did I felt the quilt needed something more.  Enter fairy.

I am happy with how she is coming along.  I see one glaring error on her, but am hoping it disappears as I work on stitching her down with hand embroidery.
Please excuse the picture, I took it at my desk during my lunch hour at work.  I started to sew her hair, I think it is almost impossible to see in the picture, but it is there, really.

UPDATE: Completed Quilt here.

I am linking up with freshly pieced.
